Delegation Trip to Ethopia and Kenya

There is a sense of optimism: Numerous new housing projects are particularly visible in Addis Ababa. The government has set clear priorities in the areas of agriculture and the agribusiness sector, medicine and the healthcare industry, as well as infrastructure. The planned construction of Africa’s largest airport also
underscores the country’s modernization drive.

A key item on the agenda was the EU Business Forum, during which the Global Gateway Initiative was signed.

In Kenya, the focus was primarily on IT, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. The visit to iHub, a central innovation and startup hub in Nairobi, provided insights into Kenya’s dynamic tech ecosystem. Furthermore, Kenya offers great potential in the field of renewable energy.

About us

Why Space?

Space technologies have become part of everyday life. From navigation and telecommunications to environmental monitoring and disaster response, they provide essential services that modern societies increasingly rely on. Advances in launch systems, space infrastructure, materials and manufacturing expand the capabilities of space technologies, while satellite-based applications create value across industries. Today, space technologies drive innovation, sustainability and economic competitiveness far beyond the space sector.

Why the Green Space Center?

Recognising the growing importance of space technologies for innovation, sustainability and economic competitiveness, the Green Space Center Baden-Württemberg was established to support organisations in translating space-based innovation into real-world impact. Through international trade fairs, delegation trips, business matchmaking and strategic partnerships, we strengthen international visibility and facilitate market access. We also support the development of strong consortia for collaborative innovation and public funding initiatives, creating new opportunities for organisations while strengthening Baden-Württemberg's position as an internationally connected hub for space-enabled innovation.

Why Baden-Württemberg?

Baden-Württemberg is one of Europe's leading innovation regions, combining world-class research, engineering excellence and a strong industrial ecosystem. Recognising space as a strategic key technology for innovation, sustainability and economic competitiveness, the state actively promotes the transfer of space technologies into commercial and societal applications. This unique combination of technological expertise, entrepreneurial strength and cross-sector collaboration creates an ideal environment for Green Space innovation and international partnerships.
