A Green Christmas Message🎄🎇
This year we traveled far and wide,
to Durban and Joburg, side by side.
From Vienna’s halls and Bremen’s view,
to Frankfurt’s talks where visions grew.
Online we spoke, sharing knowledge and more,
connecting with people across every shore.
To Members and Partners: thank you sincere 🙏
for trust and support throughout the year.
From Earth to orbit, ambitions align,
where space and sustainability intertwine.
Looking ahead, new chapters will start,
driven by vision, ideas, and spark.
May Christmas bring joy, peace, and cheer
and a green, bright start to the coming year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the GSC BW team!

IHK Reutlingen Water Network: "Water meets Space"
Space tech isn’t just for space — it’s reshaping water management on Earth.
Together with two of our member companies, we showed the Water Network of IHK Reutlingen what’s already possible today.
So how far can satellite data take us in water management today? Two examples:
🔹 HydroGeoTwin
Fernando Mazo D'Affonseca illustrated how satellite data can reveal groundwater fluctuations, but also highlighted that satellite data alone is not enough for reliable forecasting. By combining it with detailed knowledge of soil structure and topography, HydroGeoTwin creates digital twins which can model and predict suitable water management strategies.
🔹 Yugen Space
Anand Waghmare introduced the development of a platform which makes different satellite data accessible to everyone. Information that previously required specialists, extensive processing, and significant time can now be inquired easily by non-experts, including through simple natural-language inputs. This lowers the barrier to using high-precision environmental data for better decisions in agriculture, forestry, and nature conservation.
A warm thank you to our speakers and for the invitation as well as for the thoughtful preparation of the evening. It was agreat setting to introduce the potential of space data to a network which typically has no direct link to space.
We look forward to continuing the dialogue on how satellite-based insights can support sustainable practices across the region.

GSC BW at Space Tech Expo Europe 2025
The Green Space Center Baden-Württemberg participated in this year’s Space Tech Expo Europe, held in Bremen from 18- 20 November 2025. As Europe’s largest trade fair for the space industry, the Expo welcomed more than 10,000 professional visitors and over 950 exhibitors. The event once again brought together the entire spectrum of the space-technology supply chain and placed particular emphasis on New Space developments — from sustainable space operations and small-satellite innovations to cost-efficient launch technologies, advanced manufacturing methods and cybersecurity. With over 200 experts speaking across its accompanying conference programme, the Expo offered a comprehensive overview of the technological and strategic trends shaping the future of the space sector.

With over 200 experts speaking across its accompanying conference programme, the Expo offered a comprehensive overview of the technological and strategic trends shaping the future of the space sector.
Within this strong international line-up, we were delighted to be a sponsor of the Expo and also to contribute directly to the programme by providing two 20-minute speaking slots at the Technology Forum to five of our member companies. Their presentations allowed innovations and technologies from Baden-Württemberg to be showcased and to highlight the region’s active role within Europe’s growing New Space ecosystem.
Besides the speaking slots, an interview with our member company betterSoil was conducted by Senkrechtstarter, it is available here.
Reflecting on this year’s Space Tech Expo Europe, we look back on productive discussions, new partnerships and many valuable impulses. The event underlined how essential collaboration, innovation and sustainability are for the future of space activities.
With fresh momentum and strengthened networks, we look forward to continuing our mission: advancing green space technologies from Baden-Württemberg and helping shape a responsible and forward-looking space sector.
